Where Did My Total Downloads Go???
October 2, 2018 by Casey Ward
As many of you have already noticed, we have been making some changes to the analytics data in your REPu Dashboard. Our goal is to provide schools with the best data that will allow you to truly understand app engagement from your users.
We recently removed Total Downloads and many of you have been asking why. Well, we believe this isn’t a true representation of your app. To give you an example, over the coming years you will have some families and users that will graduate from your school and will potentially no longer be using your app. If a user still has your app on their phone but doesn’t use it, or deletes your app, they aren’t removed from the Total Downloads. So, this number will continue to grow and become inflated over time.
What you really want to know is how many users are actively using your app on a regular basis to check scores, view photos, read news stories and watch videos!
This is why we added Active Users. This data is more valuable, showing an accurate representation of how your users are engaging with your app. You can now see how many users are opening your app on a 7-day, 30-day, 90-day and yearly basis. Knowing you have 2,500 active users over the last year is a much more compelling story than simply knowing your total downloads, but with no insight into how many users are opening your app.
We hope you like the new addition to your Dashboard, and stay tuned as we have more exciting updates coming in the future!
