Fall sports impact more than Upper School students. At SFC, all grades, starting as early as kindergarten, are playing on teams. Upper School is fielding several teams this fall including Men’s Varsity & JV football and water polo, men’s and women’s cross country, and women’s Varsity & JV volleyball, tennis and cheer. In Middle School there are six flag football teams, seven girls volleyball teams and a girls lacrosse team. And in Lower School there are over nine Friday night flag football teams plus six girls volleyball teams. Add that all up and there are over 450 students and 40 teams practicing and playing every week. No wonder the SFC gym and sports fields are never empty!
The Athletic Program at SFC focuses on more than sports. The coaches are pouring their time and energy into teaching these young athletes the lifelong values of sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, personal responsibility, teamwork and self-discipline. Coaches continue to support the belief that character prevails at all times in the heart of a champion, regardless of what the scoreboard reads.
